Senior Manager, UX Architecture, B2B

Our Technology Group brings together Product, UX, Engineering, PMO and Operations with a single purpose: to connect people to the news that matters most when they need it and where they need it by creatively defining and building connected, innovative and sustainable experiences/products that are data informed and with a customer lens.
The UX Architecture team delivers solutions that merge business goals with user needs. They focus on the flow and organization of our digital properties to ensure experiences are navigable, understandable and interconnected.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, UX Architecture, B2B to set the direction and standards for quality experience across Dow Jones' B2B portfolio, which includes Factiva, NewsPlus, Risk & Compliance and any new B2B related products. The role will be hybrid and based in our Barcelona office
You will help customers connect with all B2B products, bringing your experience in usability, information design and information architecture to create and document holistic experiences. The ideal candidate should have a passion for user-centric design and the tools and processes that make it happen.
As a leader and maker you will move projects from concept to solution by optimizing experiences for our readers, working with the Senior Director of UX Architecture and Product leads to think customer-first through human-centered design methods, including discovery, research, whiteboard sessions and user testing. You should be expert at developing personas, mapping user flows, building prototypes for testing and creating wireframes at all levels of fidelity for all platforms. You will be comfortable managing through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and definition. You should bring an understanding of modular design and design systems to contribute to a scalable, sustainable approach that enables speed to market, evolution, and optimization.
This will be a highly collaborative role requiring partnerships with SMEs, UX Design, Engineering, Customer Insights, and Product.
The Senior Manager, UX Architecture, B2B will report to the Senior Director, UX Architecture, Consumer & B2B.
Responsibilities
Drive UX Architecture across all publishing platforms by combining industry best practices, industry standard methodologies, metrics, and analytics, with your expertise.
Manage and lead a team of UX architects, providing guidance, support and mentorship. Set clear goals, assign tasks, and ensure team's success in delivering high-quality solutions
Take a hands on role in driving the conceptualization and delivery of Factiva projects, from creating conceptual sketches to user flows to wireframes and functional specs
Championing prioritization of design centered and data informed product enhancements
Evangelize the importance of modular design, create interaction patterns in our design system and help to drive adoption of the design system
Collaborate across the Experience Architecture team to create holistic, reusable solutions and help set standards for process, communication and documentation
Partner with peers to create a connected experience across Dow Jones' portfolio of B2B products, including Factiva, NewsPlus and Risk & Compliance
Meet with stakeholders and upper management/leadership to get input and communicate strategies and solutions
Coordinate and meet regularly with Product, Delivery and Engineering to collaborate on timelines and resource management
Manage the workload of your team and provide regular updates on projects, team status, and resourcing
Contribute to our UX Strategy by collaborating with Product on how UX contributes to achieving business objectives and ensuring solutions support specific business goals; with Technology and other partners on the use of metadata to organize and connect content, and that dependencies, and sustainability are understood and factored into our solutions.
Collaborate with our Customer Insights team, creating test materials, hypotheses and criteria as well as incorporating recommendations and analysis into the UX process.
Work with researchers to understand customer needs and define opportunities through usability testing and empathy studies and analyzing data trends
Collaborate with the Accessibility lead to ensure we meet standards for accessibility and include it in our process
Role requires 3 days each week in office (as per current mandate, may change)
Last but never least, serve as an advocate for our users, keeping their needs at the heart of our digital solutions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in CX or UX, spanning strategy, research, and design
3+ years in previous leadership roles and can effectively oversee the quality and efficacy of our digital team's work.
Strong grasp of UI, HCI and UX principles
Fluency in best practices for mobile, web-based and responsive design
Experience in information architecture, user and screen flows, information design, conceptual and detailed wireframing, and prototyping tools
Experience working with large-scale publishing and CMS environments
Experience in the design and usability of news, data-rich or financial services web and mobile solutions
Experience working with Design Systems, in creating and reusing components
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Strong proficiency with G-suite products and experience with professional collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence and Airtable.
Expertise with Figma, Miro and other prototyping and design tools
A strong portfolio that demonstrates your experience and UX skills showcased in several case studies as well as clear examples of of products that rely on metadata for informational organization, navigation and user pathing
Great communication skills and presentation skills including the ability to speak to the specifics and benefits of the user-centered design process.
