Responsibilities
As part of a cross-functional agile software team, you will design, implement,and maintain our web applications in a highly collaborative environment.
Participate and lead technical discussions about technology, infrastructure and consider the pros/cons of your decisions based on business value, scalability, maintainability and project delivery performance.
Support Dow Jones cultural values by driving toward solutions independently, seeking feedback when appropriate.
Maintain and share knowledge in emerging technologies and tools in the wider industry.
Prioritise and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Experience
3-5 years experience developing front end Javascript web applications
Experience of Next.js, React and Node.js
Experience of web based technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, JSON,
Proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentals around web development, enterprise services,
AWS cloud computing, agile methodology, and test driven development principles.Knowledge of testing suites preferably Jest and Enzyme
Familiarity with the Terminal and NPM
Preferred Experience
Fluency in Node.js
Fluency in multiple JavaScript Frameworks preferably React and Next.js
Familiarity with Typescript
Familiarity with SASS, SCSS and other CSS frameworks
Experience of other JavaScript frameworksDevops experience in AWS, using Docker, infra as a service, and any other cloud or container based application deployments
Experience of GraphQL, Mongo, NoSQL
S3, Redis, Memcached, BigQuery, ElastiCache a plus
