The product capabilities group at Dow Jones focuses on building and delivering tailored experiences and solutions for our consumer brands (The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, MarketWatch, Mansion Global, FN London, PENews). To help us achieve our personalization vision the product capabilities group is looking for a passionate Product Manager who would help build personalization capabilities to serve our communities with tailored offerings, giving them an edge in decision making, with a customer-centric approach offering convenience, relevance and value.
The Personalization Product Director will lead the efforts to develop and improve active and passive personalisation features such as alerts, recommendations, and search experiences that demonstrate a deep understanding of customers needs and preferences. This role will work closely with the engineering teams to translate business requirements from stakeholders, and communicate progress as the solution develops.
The teams will be using technologies such as graph databases, AI/ML and cloud computing in order to create more relevant and engaging experiences for our readership that drive clear business outcomes. This role will engage with the personalization team that supports a platform enabling features from knowledge graphs, which today delivers solutions for internal stakeholders that impact a number of Dow Jones consumer brands. This candidate’s efforts will surface to millions of users, and are core to the business’s growth strategies.
Partnering with cross-brand stakeholders to build alignment on personalization capabilities and lead a strategic product vision for all.
Identifying, exploring, building and vetting new opportunities to drive engagement with our end users across all products.
Building and executing (agile) roadmaps and KPIs to measure success.
Working closely with engineers to understand functional capabilities, and create business requirements and user stories for technical delivery.
Leverage data and customer insights, and collaborate with product managers and design/UX to make data informed decisions and vet new opportunities to create engagement with our users through personalization.
Working with research and analytics teams to gather and analyze audience research and traffic to inform product strategy, new products and enhancements.
Experience with recommendation systems, graph based or AI/ML assisted platforms
Passionate and knowledgeable about user experiences, news and software products.
Experience working with engineering platform initiatives
Proven ability partnering and communicating across a technology organization.
Experience defining and implementing product requirements for web and mobile apps.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers.
Strong analytical skills, with experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative consumer research.
Highly strategic as well as detail-oriented.
