Partner with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineers to design and implement a world class Universal Curation System for The Dow Jones Digital Newsroom.
Work with other engineers to design and build UI guided by industry design principles.
Partner with middleware and backend engineers to architect and build backend APIs.
Mentor and support junior front-end engineers within the Curation engineering team.
Play an active role in the product development process.
Be a part of 3rd level support rotation for The Dow Jones Digital Newsroom.
Contribute to building a culture that is inclusive, motivating, and rewarding.
Skills & Experience:
Proficiency with React, Node.js
Experience with user interface design.
Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments.
Familiarity with build tools like terraform, jenkins, docker, etc.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Experience with browser-specific communication protocols and their nuances, including web sockets, CORS, etc.
Preferred: A strong background in software engineering and computer science fundamentals.
Preferred: Back-end expertise, including Java, Unix/Linux, understanding of SQL and XQL.
Preferred: experience with NoSQL databases.
Preferred: understanding of OIDC.
Preferred: AWS experience.
