Dow Jones Product Manager, WSJ - Articles & Storytelling Formats in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a Product Manager, Articles & Storytelling formats to help build engaging and habit-forming storytelling experiences for our audience. The role will work with both the web and mobile product teams, driving delivery and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and Agile software development teams. You will support the Director and VP of product as they build a roadmap and rapidly assess, implement, test, and optimize various features and capabilities across our owned and operated properties.

This role reports to the Journal’s Web Product Director.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work cross-functionally across editorial, membership, and revenue to define and prioritize business and newsroom requirements for new products and enhancements, driving user engagement as well as subscriptions and advertising revenue

  • Write clear, concise requirements and user stories which clearly and unambiguously communicate acceptance criteria (i.e. what success looks like) and work closely with software developer throughout the product life cycle

  • Coordinate communication between developers, designers, and business stakeholders regarding goals, requirements, and growth expectations

  • Define success criteria and measure Key Performance Indicators to demonstrate ROI and P&L impact of product enhancements

  • Work with research teams to gather and analyze audience research and feedback regarding new products and enhancements

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of product management experience.

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about digital media and news.

  • Decisive with a bias towards action; must thrive in fast-paced, agile environments

  • Ability to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of Adobe analytics platform and/or others

  • Ability to effectively present and explain results with quantitative information

  • Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative consumer research.

  • Experience defining and implementing product requirements for websites and mobile apps.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Experience working closely with engineering teams, as well as an understanding of both web and mobile platforms.

  • Highly strategic as well as detail-oriented, with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
