Dow Jones is looking for a Product Manager to work across product, design, engineering and content teams to help build and roll out our next generation of storytelling tools across the company.
The Product Manager will oversee the editorial tools roadmap, identify and prioritize new features and bugs, help set the training and onboarding schedule for teams across the organization and work with partners and stakeholders to gather input and communicate changes. This is an especially crucial role as we (1) extend our tooling ecosystem to serve multiple Dow Jones brands including Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch and Barron’s and (2) evolve our publishing system from a monolithic system to a platform of essential tools and components.
We’re looking for you to:
Collaborate closely with editors, reporters, designers, data scientists, product managers and engineers to build innovative solutions to current and future newsroom challenges
Help set technical direction and long-term strategy for our tooling ecosystem, which includes our Live Coverage, Image Rendering, and Charting platforms, among others
Create short term wins for the team while focusing on strategic alignment and long term success
Assist with developing products and processes to create the most efficient workflow for content creation and publishing
Foster a strong culture in the team
We’d like for you to have:
2-5 years of product experience
Experience in a newsroom
Experience working closely with engineering teams
Excellent communication, organization and collaboration skills
A passion for storytelling, new ideas, and technologies
Please apply even if you are not sure you meet all the requirements.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about both the user experience for journalists and audiences, has thought about the ways the news industry is changing, and looks for opportunities to solve problems in a scalable, reusable fashion.
