As the SVP of Consumer Technology, we need your expertise and guidance to deliver against an ambitious roadmap while continuing to build a customer-focused high-quality engineering organization. The SVP of Consumer Technology is a key role within the organization, responsible for designing and communicating the shared technical vision and standards for the consumer-facing technology organization
The role will lead the consumer-facing teams responsible for developing and generating technical products and services, including conceptual, logical, and physical application solutions. You'll be responsible for leading our Engineering and QA software professionals. In addition, you'll help shepherd us toward our future technical ambitions.
As part of our senior leadership team, you will lead the continued growth of engineering with an emphasis on championing a strong engineering culture, ensuring high quality, and achieving schedule predictability. Ultimately, you will be responsible for taking Consumer Technology to a scalable platform that easily integrates with multiple solutions while ever-evolving. You will also be a key partner in recruiting and building a diverse engineering team, fostering an environment for education and career advancement.
The Senior Vice President of Consumer Technology is responsible for:
Provide technical leadership to create, implement and scale our platform and to solve engineering challenges throughout the consumer technology organization
Develop and deploy interactive technologies which deliver first-in-class consumer experiences
Establishing KPIs and OKRs to define and measure success.
Lead, mentor, and inspire, multiple cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software experiences
Research, assess, and train to promote the adoption of new and existing technologies which extend capabilities and accelerate results
Demonstrate a hands-on approach to media
Advise and coordinate technical strategy and delivery
Establish mentorship and coaching structures in order to drive personal and professional development
Create strong relationships with key stakeholders and drive transparent communication
Promote a highly collaborative, customer-centric, data-driven culture of inclusion that challenges norms
Preferred Qualifications :
15+ years experience technology leading technical delivery
5+ years as a senior leader in the news, media or technology industry
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields, or equivalent practical experience (Masters preferred)
Domain experience in the CX (Customer Experience) space is preferred
Previous coding experience in multiple languages
Able to effectively work cross-functionally and meet multiple stakeholder needs.
Ability to facilitate disparate stakeholders and team members and drive consensus in meetings, workshops and one to one interactions.
Proven track record of hiring, developing and retaining top talent.
Ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels and across a globally-distributed organization
Ability to understand and influence complex technology architectures.
Able to clearly communicate complex technical subjects to business and technology stakeholders
