Subscription Reporting Engineering Group

We work across all of the elite Dow Jones brands to appeal to a broad, high-level client base and provide a distinctive experience to each one.


The Subscription Reporting provides a variety of functions that ensure the proper data mining business intelligence and presentation of subscription data to create analysis and reports such as price increase reports, customer engagement reports and stick rate reports etc. The team is responsible for developing new reports and dashboards by collecting and analyzing the data. This position is also responsible for the UAT efforts for any new development that takes place in our ecosystems.

The Membership and P&L Finance teams rely heavily on the Subscription Reporting team to support their acquisition and retention campaign analysis. This candidate will also help to automate recurring data mining requests for the Subscription Reporting queue. Data miner should also strive to continuously maintain current service levels and new incoming global commerce initiatives, to help the acquisition and retention initiatives.The Membership, P&L Finance, and Research teams rely heavily on the Subscription Reporting team to support their acquisition and retention campaign for insight driven segmentation and campaigns for both offline and online

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly in-depth reports on strategy performance

  • Prepare data for analysis by Circulation Planning and Membership groups

  • Follow an air-tight quality control process to ensure reporting and analytics accurately reflect circulation and revenue figures

  • Produce persistent segmentation across all marketing channels for measurement of subscriber behavior

  • Produce operational metrics to measure throughput and to build scale within a growing organization

  • Identify opportunities to enhance targeting/segmentation capabilities


  • Strong SQL coding experience necessary (3+ years)

  • Reporting experience a must

  • SAS experience needed (1+ years)

  • Tableau Experience is a plus

  • Quality Assurance orientation a definite must

  • Detail Orientation

  • Self-starter

  • Email Marketing experience a plus

  • Publishing industry experience desired

  • Strong written and oral communications needed

  • Knowledge of subscription marketing needed
