A Principal Salesforce Developer must be able to assume a leadership role in translating business requirements into viable and efficient Salesforce solutions and be able to provide guidance to both technical and business teams to the efficiency and effectiveness of proposed business solutions. The successful candidate will be able to follow through on the proposed solution delivering documented requirements, detailed designs, test plans and fully developing the solution using declarative and programmatic capabilities of the Salesforce platform.
A minimum 5 years of experience with 3 years of Salesforce experience; a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. The candidate should be fluent in Salesforce Architecture. Salesforce developer certification is a plus. Other key requirements include:
Can use the fundamental programmatic capabilities of the Lightning Platform to develop custom interfaces to extend Salesforce capabilities and develop custom business logic.
Can extend the Lightning Platform using Apex and Visualforce, and understands Lightning Components.
Can leverage relevant declarative capabilities of the Salesforce platform, where appropriate.
Knowing when to use declarative vs. programmatic methods.
Knowing when to use the Lightning Process Builder vs. an Apex trigger.
Experience building test classes for code coverage and functionality.
Experience debugging issues in a sandbox and in production.
Experience with SOQL and databases.
Experience with Model View Controller (MVC) architecture and component-based architecture.
Experience with integrations such as callouts, APIs, and email services.
Excellent written and oral communication Skills.
Ability to understand and develop business processes and how these are supported by system components.
Ability to develop business and technical requirements; defining architecture, design specifications and test specifications.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams requiring coordination across multiple internal groups.
Work within the CRM team to build out and maintain Salesforce functionality using APEX, Process Builders, customizations and configurations.
Work closely with business users and other technical teams to design, develop and support Salesforce business applications.
Effectively communicate design, functional and technical specifications, test scripts and test results verbally and through documentation to technical colleagues and business users.
